Archive for From Jed
I describe the Christmas presents that various family members sent us. “they also sent us a game called ‘Quest of the Magic Ring’ that the main idea of it is taken from the ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy. We all really like the game.”
Covers mostly the same information as my previous letter to G&H. “I have read a lot of books lately, and most of them are either science fiction or fantasy. I did a book report on a science fiction book.”
A thank-you and life-update note from Jed. “The Christmas doughnuts and lefse were DELICIOUS; thank you very much for making and sending them.”
A thank-you note from me, and a request for a scarf. “several of my friends in a club I belong to have long, woolly scarves and when I ask where to get one, they say they had them knitted by relatives.”
A letter from me about what I was up to at the end of the summer before my senior year of high school. “Every book in the store, except for some very old or rare ones, is half price, and they have quite a large selection. Also, by being an employee, I get an extra 10% discount.”
A post-high-school-graduation note from me, along with a thank-you for some luggage. “Here is a picture of me at graduation.”
Four-page letter from me, a year after I graduated from college. “I’m sorry to take so long to get this note to you—I wanted to sit down at some time when I’d be able to write lots of overdue thank-you notes and letters at once, but if I’d just taken a few minutes for each of them over the last couple of weeks, instead of trying to find one large block of time for all of them, I’d probably be done by now.”
Two-page life-update letter from me. “I’m trying to get into the habit of sending people short notes occasionally to let them know I still exist.”
