McCain and Obama are funny
I'm not normally a fan of roasts--they tend to get nastier than I enjoy--but the McCain and Obama comedy speeches/roasts at the Alfred E. Smith memorial dinner were fun, occasionally even laugh-out-loud funny.
McCain went first (part 1, part 2), a total of about 13 minutes. He was followed by Obama, speaking for a little over 10 minutes.
I thought they both looked like they were having a fair bit of fun during the first half of McCain's. McCain's piece got a little nasty in the middle, and then there was a longish serious bit toward the end, but still worth watching. Obama looked to me a little bit less comfortable in this speaking format than McCain did--I don't think I've seen Obama speak from a paper speech before, rather than a teleprompter--but both of them said a bunch of funny things.
I think my favorite line was Obama's bit about where he was born, but I won't spoil it by saying any more than that.
