Clinton speaks
Nice speech by Bill Clinton, given at Yale on 10/6/01. It's not startlingly original or groundbreaking, but it makes good points and makes them well, and calmly; it gives me more respect for Clinton than I've had in a while. I particularly like this line near the end: "Fanatics are defined by their hatreds; free people by their humanity."
I'm confused by one bit, though: he says that "This year one in four people in the world will die of AIDS, TB, malaria or infections related to malaria." That's gotta be a typo, no? That'd be roughly 1.5 billion people; I can't believe that many are going to die of those four things this coming year.
