Good words from Barbara Kingsolver
Barbara Kingsolver wrote a very nice opinion piece in the San Francisco Chronicle a couple weeks back, about reclaiming the flag from saber-rattling warmongers. I think her comments about Iraq are a little simplistic, but I highly recommend the rest of the piece.
And, of course, two days later, there was a letter to the editor ranting about how much Kingsolver must hate America.
Sigh.
To be fair, though, the other letters on that letters page show a wide range of opinions, including a couple I agree with.
